BLANKET STATEMENT (PLAYWRIGHTING FELLOWSHIP)

fellowship.jpg

Blanket Statement was an original one act play written by Abigail Carlisle, the student playwright selected for our first ever Playwrighting Fellowship!

The Playwrighting Fellowship is an annual year-long partnership designed to help develop a new original work from the selected playwright. This piece was workshopped and edited through a staged reading of the piece followed by this fully staged production of it.

Blanket Statement, takes place in busy Brooklyn, NY and deals with themes of isolation, pride, and assumptions. When a brutally snowy Christmas Eve falls upon the borough where college student Sam is residing, she encounters Dennis, a homeless man and unexpected beacon for the answers she didn’t know she was looking for.

Location: FSU's Globe Auditorium

Date: April 13th - April 14th
