2021 Playwriting Fellowship
White Mouse Theatre Productions is excited to announce our fourth annual Playwriting Fellowship for FSU students!
We are seeking a playwright interested in developing their own new and original one-act play no more than 60 minutes in length. The writer selected will be required to meet with a White Mouse committee for a one-hour meeting each week to check on the progress of the play, ensure that the playwright is meeting the necessary deadlines and timeline set, and offer feedback and suggestions for possible revisions.
Guidelines for a play that is more likely to be selected:
- The cast is a small size.
- The tech requirements are minimal
- The playwright already has specific personnel for a production and technical team in mind.
Please limit 2 submissions per person.
The deadline for submissions is September 19th at 11:59pm

About The Playwriting Fellowship
The Playwrighting Fellowship is a year-long partnership designed to help develop a new original work from the selected playwright. The piece will be workshopped through a rehearsal process in preparation for a staged reading of the piece in Fall Semester. Immediately after the reading, the floor will be open for a dialogue between the playwright/production team and the audience to receive feedback and suggestions to further improve the play. Over winter break, the playwright will make final adjustments to the script and together with the director will put on a fully-staged production of the piece in Spring 2022. White Mouse will provide rehearsal spaces and a performance space for both the staged reading and full production, assist in organizing auditions, as well as providing a production team to help turn the project into a reality.
